Dry Creek Valley contacted me this morning to tell me that they were going to insist on a mandatory, non-included-in-wine-purchase $15 per person tasting fee.

Given that this kind of fee is excessive for the area, and would even raise eyebrows in Sonoma, I merely thanked them and waited to hang up the phone before laughing.

Obviously they are off the schedule. So I'll do some more calling tomorrow and see what we can scare up now. There's a bunch of other good wineries around there, I just don't know them by name :-(

Jo, Thanks for not laughing. I really don't want Vintacon garnering a reputation of anything but a good vibe from the wineries.
I'm gonna need a finished schedule by this weekend, as Dave will be running off the program book early next week so that I can assemble it. We are trying to wrap up as many loose ends as possible. I still think that the Christie Vineyard complex would be a good place to let folks loose. That way we won't overwhelm any one winery. OR maybe we should just go to the casino! *HA*

I'm leaning more towards this cluster of wineries in the middle right. They each have good reviews.

Papapietro Perry

Since these are also just a few miles from our 1:30, we could easily get here by 3pm and finish the day. Whereas Christie would likely be an hour of transit...
